Real.

I think something I forget all too often is that bloggers are real people. Real people with real lives outside of the internet realm. I just get so caught up in seeing their internet persona of perfection that I lose sight of the fact that no, that blogger isn't an imaginary character off of Gossip Girl but a girl who is actually out there.

As readers, all we see is the perfection and the parts of a blogger's life that he or she chooses to share with us. We don't get to see the insecurities and the bad outfit days. They're covered up with flawless outfits and a confident smile. We don't get to see the pimples or the dark circles under their eyes. All of those are edited and photoshopped out so that nothing but a smooth exterior exists. We don't get to see the break-ups, the family strains, the down-in-the-dumps kind of days, or even the stress of work or school. We just get to see the pictures of a glorious day at a quaint coffee shop with macaroons or the rows and rows of dainty dresses hanging from inside the vintage store.

What I'm trying to say I guess is that no blogger is perfect and no blogger is flawless. Some may appear that way, yes, but all of us are real human beings. I never want to come across as the flawless blogger though. I never want any of you to think I have the perfect life or the perfect wardrobe. The perfect boyfriend or the perfect blog. None of my life is perfect nor do I ever want it to appear that way.

Being real is so much more important for me to come across to you all than being perfect is. I want you all to know that yeah, I do sometimes trip in the school hallways when I'm walking in my heels and everyone snickers. I do get pimples. Lots and lots of them. I do have days where I don't want to wear a pretty dress, but just want to stay (and I do) in my pajamas all day. I do get down, depressed, hurt, and every other emotion that all of you get. I am a real person. I am not just a picture on the internet, but someone who is real.

So if I ever stop, even for one second, being real to you gals and guys, just let me know

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. Happy Leap Day! Goodness, what a seriously special day! I won't get to wish you all another one until four more years

Bow Belt.

Blue Peter Pan Collar Dress, Hair Bow: Modcloth.
Hold Earrings, Blue Suede Heels: Thrifted.

Hello everyone ❤
It's no doubt that you all have probably heard me go on endlessly about bow belts. I've most likely left a comment on every single one of your blogs saying how envious I am that you own one, and that I'm still searching! Thankfully my endless bow belt searching has come to a conclusion...I am a proud new owner of a beautiful, red bow belt!

Too excited was I when the lovely company Oasap contacted me and kindly allowed me to pick an item of my choosing. I was in a deep predicament between this little beauty here and a spiffy pearl peter pan collar necklace, but in the end my undying love and affection for a bow belt finally won me over.

I must admit I did a slight 'happy' dance when I opened the package that contained this beaut yesterday. How embarrassing, but I was too excited! The red is the perfect color because I'm always wearing red accessories to match my red lipstick, and I was pleasantly surprised by how big, and of course over-the-top cutesy the belt was. You all are going to get tired of seeing me wear this belt all too soon!

Hope you all are doing lovely...
With much love, Lauren.

Dream in Color.

Floral Blouse, Denim Skirt, Purple Heels: Thrifted.
Pink Beret: Target.
Lipstick in Revlon Matte 'Sky Pink.'

Hello everyone!
It was such a glorious day out today and I knew I wanted to wear something that reflected the beautiful, spring like weather. What's better than a pretty floral blouse...? Nothing in my opinion, hehe! I'm totally swimming in schoolwork, blog work, and stress right now so I'm afraid I can't talk long; ever so sorry!

Before I go though I just want to say how deeply saddened I am for the shooting that happened this morning at an Ohio school. It is so surreal to me that it happened. I mean, I'm in high school. I live in Ohio. It could have happened to me. Definitely puts things in perspective and my heart and prayers go out to all who were affected!

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. I was so flattered to be interviewed by the ever so sweet Amanda of Lovely, Charming Delightful. Pop on over to her beautiful blog if you'd like to read the interview!

Rediscovered.

Lace Blouse, Brown Boots: Tan Satchel: Thrifted.
Purple Skirt, Purple Knitted Hat: Forever21.
Necklace: Gift.

Hello everyone!
Golly, thanks for all of the kind congratulations on my new roommate... I'm excited that you all are excited! Anyways, I felt super accomplished today because I got a guest post done, an interview, some emails sent, outfit photos taken, and now I'm doing this post! Now school work on the other hand...not as productive, haha ;)

This skirt is one I've had forever and used to wear all of the time, but I've never featured it on here before. I got tired of it about a year or so ago and tried selling it to Plato's Closet, but as always they didn't take it (they never take any of my clothes; humph). After the few failed sale attempts, I put this skirt in a container to make room in my closet for new pieces. It wasn't until a few days ago that I opened up the container and fell in love with the skirt all over again! I wish I could rediscover pieces in my wardrobe everyday.

Hope you all had a good weekend!
With much love, Lauren.
