Skirt, Purse,Hat, Necklace: Thrifted.
Navy Tank: old Navy.
Brown Wedges: Target.
Aviator Sunglasses: Walmart (because I'm classy like that, ha.)

Awe, why hello there everyone!
I hope you all had just a lovely, relaxing, and enjoyable Memorial Day! It was the hottest day of the year so far here: topping over 90 degrees... (Hence my huge mass of frizzy hair). Matt and I wanted to go to the pool today, but after getting all ready and arriving we found out the pool was closed! Argh, it would have been just the perfect day to go swimming, too...

I also had a little cookout with the family today, and went and took these pictures this evening. I think I'm going to start snapping my photos in the evening all the time this summer because the sunlight I captured in some of the pictures was just breathtaking! How was all of your guys's Memorial Day?
Oh, and I also just wanted to thank all of you who took time to comment and congratulate me on my last post for my recent exciting happening! You all make this experience all the more better with your kindness and support :) Thank you!

With much love, Lauren.

Pink Tie Neck Blouse, Tan Satchel, Tan Flats, Earrings: Thrifted.
Polka Dot Drawstring Shorts: Delia's

Oh why hello there everyone!
So, as I've been hinting I've had some pretty exciting news I've been meaning to share with you all... Last week I got an email from the clothing company called StopStaring! to do a promotion for them. They told me to pick some of my favorite of their beautiful, retro inspired dresses and they would send me one free of charge to keep! Oh. my.goodness. I was beyond shocked and flattered and of course I jumped at the chance to do something so awesome and exciting!

I never believed that anything such as this would happen to me. Me. Lauren. A little seventeen year old gal from a tiny town in Ohio. A girl who honestly sometimes doesn't believe in herself even though everyone else may believe in her abilities. At that moment of receiving this email, I actually felt worth something. Like maybe I am good at this blogging thing, and maybe there is someone out there who could want someone like me. And maybe, just maybe there is more out there for me than my small, narrow minded town can offer. Ever since I started this blog, my ultimate and absolute dream was to be sent free clothing to model and take pictures in. Isn't that just every blogger's absolute dream?

Never in a million years (and probably even more) did I think something like this would happen to me. I'm in such shock, and so incredibly thankful. More thankful than you all could imagine. Blogging has been such a rewarding experience, and this opportunity makes all of the hard work I've put into my blog real and not just a fragment of my imagination. For all of you bloggers out there: your dreams seriously can come true. I never thought mine would, but I was totally wrong. They can come true, and they have.
With much love, Lauren.

1970's Sak's Fifth Av. Dress: Love Charles Vintage Shop.
Wooden Heels: Target.

Hello there everyone!
So one of the incredible things has happened a few weeks ago was that I was the featured cover model for online fashion magazine Mode Republic. Along with being on the cover, I was also given a $30 gift card to any one of their online vintage store sponsors. After searching through hundreds of items, I finally decided upon this absolutely beautiful 1970's, Sak's Fifth Avenue Dress! Gosh, I could live in this dress it's so perfect! (I have actually worn it for the past three days...Eeck). I was worried that it wouldn't fit, however, it fits perfectly and actually makes me look taller than I really am. I just love all the bright colors and patterns, too. I'm not usually a 1970's type of girl, but this dress has me hooked! Also, I was stunned to see that the tag says it's from Sak's... So totally awesome.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
With much love, Lauren.

P.S. I plan on telling you all some even more exciting news tomorrow!

Hello there everyone!
So when I visited Kent State last week, I also got to tour the Historical Fashion museum there, as well! It was so nifty, and it was even more exciting because they had a Katherine Hepburn exhibit showcasing he actual clothing she wore in real life and her movies! Her award gowns, movie costumes, signature trousers, and even her shoes and makeup kit! Also, did you all know she has an 18 inch waist? Gosh, SO tiny! It was really incredible and I feel totally honored to have been able to see such beautiful pieces (the pictures don't do any justice) that such a famous actress wore. Although I must admit that I haven't seen any Katherine Hepburn films (boo!), after seeing her movie wardrobes, I believe I'm going to have to definitely rent some of her movies over the summer from the library!

Hope you all are doing just wonderful!

With much love, Lauren.
P.S. I have so incredibly exciting and totally dreamy news to share with you all in a few days! Stay tuned...

Lavender 1950's Tea Party Dress, Pearls, White Gloves: Thrifted.
Grey Heels: Forever21.

Hello there everyone!
Last night was my school's annual awards banquet where they give out awards for student's academic achievements. I was meaning to post these pictures of my outfit last night, but we didn't get home until really late and I was exhausted! It's really not that fancy of an affair (most people wear jeans and such), but it gave me an excuse to wear the beautiful 1950's lavender tea party dress I thrifted a few weeks ago. To say I was the most dressed up student is somewhat of an understatement, haha! But, sigh... that dress is a total dream. I wish I could dress like that everyday. And how adorable is the little bow on the back? Perfection.

Usually at these kind of award ceremonies, it's an all or nothing kind of deal. Either a student wins 8 award, or one award in a really easy subject. Not everyone gets invited, so it's a real honor! This year I received one award that was incredibly surprising and very honorable. The advanced junior English award.

It surprised me to receive this award because I never particularly thought that I was that talented of a writer, and I know for a fact that my grammar is just atrocious. However, after a while of thinking I came to a realization and a huge one. I do deserve this award. My writing has come so far in the past few years and I feel as though I've really developed my own style and technique due to this blog. I'm so thankful I won this award and not any other award because I think it describes who I am. Although I am quiet and keep to myself at school, my writing like my clothing allows my voice to be heard and it allows me to show people pieces of my heart they otherwise would never get to see. By winning this award, it's awarding me for being myself. For being honest and truthful in my writing and not holding back any part of me. I think that's what you have to do when you write. Just let yourself flow onto the page and let people see who you really are.

With much love, Lauren.

Floral Romper: Forever21.
Brown Heels, Brown Purse, Cameo Necklace, Earrings: Thrifted.

Hello there everyone!
Whew, it's scorching here in Ohio: 85 degrees! I've been breaking out all my summer clothes that I've had stored up all winter... Sleeveless dresses. High waisted shorts. Floral rompers. I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe!
Tomorrow I have an academic awards ceremony for school and I'm excited to wear my thrifted 1950's lavender tea party dress. I had it dry cleaned (which was outrageously expensive...),but I'm so looking forward to wearing it :)

Hope you all are doing just lovely!
P.S. I'm a little behind of reading/commenting/replying/back so bare with me, hehe.
With much love, Lauren.
